Other Information

Reasonable fitness is required. This experience requires walking for up to approximately 1.5km on uneven surfaces in low light and very dark conditions. Small torches are welcome to assist visitors move around in the dark and must only be used under the guides’ direction.
Torches are not needed to view animals. Guides will use wildlife friendly torches.

Tour capacity: 20 (twenty) visitors per tour
Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours
Meeting point: ticket holders to meet guides at Samuel Amess Drive, Newhaven

Please drive carefully and await guides' instructions for a slow speed (20km/hr) convoy onto Churchill Island. We do expect to encounter wildlife on the road at night. Frequent stops may be required.

The tour departs within 10 minutes of the session time. Late arrivals will not be able to join the tour.

This is an exclusive after-hours wildlife experience. No retail or food and beverage options are available during the tour. Bathroom facilities are available. Entry only via a pre-purchased ticket (including infants). Companion card holders are free of charge but must book their ticket by phoning 03 5951 2830. All cards must be shown on arrival. All ages are welcome. Under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This walking tour is currently not suitable for prams/pushers. Currently this tour is not an all-access experience. The tour pathway moves across uneven surfaces. Commentary delivered in English.
Cameras are welcome, no flash photography is permitted. In extreme weather or on advice from the Nature Parks Conservation team, the tour may be cancelled.
